Mighty Axe is such a fun and unique experience! This location absolutely nails the vibe, the decor perfectly matches the axe-throwing theme and creates an energetic, exciting atmosphere from the moment you walk in.
One of the coolest parts is that you enter through a bar area before heading back to the axe-throwing lanes. Even if you’re not throwing axes, it’s still a great spot to hang out, enjoy drinks, and soak in the fun environment. They also partner with Mellow Mushroom, so you can order food and have it delivered right to you, such a great added bonus.
What really stood out was the customer service. The employee who helped us went above and beyond, making sure we felt comfortable and confident. They took the time to teach us proper technique and emphasized safety, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
If you’re looking for something different to do, definitely give axe throwing a try, it’s way more fun than you’d expect! Between the lively atmosphere, great service, and overall experience, this place is absolutely worth checking out.

A Slice of Chicago at The Mighty Axe 🪓
I had no idea I was going to end up at The Mighty Axe (5410 E High St Suite 102) tonight, but it was the best "accident" ever. I was originally heading to another venue in the area for MLK weekend, but their $25 cover charge just to watch the Bears game was way out of my budget. Since it was nice out, my colleague and I took a walk along the High Street strip and stumbled upon this place. Seeing the Bears game on their massive big-screen TV, I knew as a Chicago fan I had to go in.
The moment we walked in, I felt like I was back home on the South Side of the Chi. Many of the workers are actually from Chicago, which made the environment so lively and exciting.
We stood around with other fans cheering the team on—they have one huge main screen and 23 smaller TVs throughout the bar, so you never miss a play.
The service here is absolutely superb; it didn't feel like a bar, it felt like being at a friend’s house. Because it was a little chilly on the patio, the staff let us sit in the private room. They welcomed us in, we ordered food and drinks, and the service was just "down-home Chicago" love. Our server made sure our food was plentiful and we never ran out of napkins or side items.
For about $35 to $38 an hour, you can head to the back for the "behind the scenes" axe throwing and the Tilted Arcade. We spent time observing the axe throwing and playing in the arcade, but the board games were the real highlight for us. They have everything from the classics to today's favorites, and they are free to play if you have a seat! We played Battleship, Tic-Tac-Toe, and "Never Have I Ever." People in the bar were even teaching me how to play "You Sank My Battleship"—we laughed and talked all night.
If you want a venue that feels like a family party rather than a cold business, you have to check out The Mighty Axe. From the managers to the servers, everyone was incredibly friendly. I highly recommend it for the vibe, the hyper-local craft beers, and the amazing service. You won't regret it!
