Staff were very responsive to our questions before arriving at activity. They provide good arrival instructions that made it smooth. Our guide Emma, was great! Made us feel relaxed and comfortable. The Sand Harbor excursion is pretty easy, I would feel comfortable taking a beginner kayaker. The best part is that they make sure you get great pictures, which were so gorgeous with the turquoise water and clear kayaks. They do this with their own camera phones so it was stress free, and send you the pics right at the end of the activity. It goes by very fast, I would look to book a longer one next time. We enjoyed the experience

Zero guiding, total safety hazard, and extremely unprofessional.
We paid $456 for a "guided" clear kayak tour, but it was a total joke.
The guide lagged way behind the group for the entire 1.5 hours, reclining in his kayak and staring at his smartphone the whole time. He gave ZERO commentary, zero history, and zero actual guidance.
What’s worse was the total disregard for our safety. He floated far behind us, completely unbothered by what was happening ahead, leaving us to figure everything out on our own. When the water current caused our boat to drift slightly, instead of doing his job and guiding us, he rudely snapped, "It’s bad for everyone else"—even though there was literally no one else around us.
We paid a premium price just to be abandoned on the lake, ignored, and talked down to by a lazy, hostile staff member. This is a massive safety liability and a complete rip-off. Avoid Tahoe Paddle Sports.

Update regarding the owner's response:
Notice how the owner posted a hostile response attacking us personally while completely ignoring the photo evidence attached to this review.
The owner’s claim that the guide stayed back for "safety" is a total lie. Right after launching, the guide was actually in front of us. Without saying a word or providing any guidance, he deliberately dropped back behind all 4 boats in our group specifically to hide in everyone's blind spot so he could lounge back and scroll on his phone.
He gave us zero commentary, yet when a random boat passed by, he suddenly found the energy to chat, pull out his pedal drive, and demonstrate how his kayak worked. He even joked with them that he "wished he could have a drink, but was on the clock." As soon as they left, he went right back to ignoring us and scrolling on his phone.
He clearly knew how to engage, but intentionally saved that energy for non-paying strangers while treating his own customers with total neglect and hostility. The photo speaks for itself, and future customers can judge for themselves.

Update 2 in response to the owner:
Instead of addressing the photo evidence, the owner continues to dodge the issue with personal attacks and irrelevant credentials.
The claim that the guide was "managing safety" is completely false:
Overcapacity Violation: The booking listing explicitly mandates a maximum of 6 participants, yet the vendor accepted 7 of us under a single guide. The vendor violated safety limits for profit, then hypocritically blamed us for "safety concerns."
Zero Safety Briefing & Guidance: At the very start, he pointed once where to paddle and said nothing else. We literally asked each other, "Wait, isn't this supposed to be a guided tour?"
Hiding in the Blind Spot: He quietly dropped behind all 4 boats in our group specifically to stay in everyone's blind spot so he could lounge back and scroll on his phone.
Double Standard: He ignored us as paying guests, yet enthusiastically chatted up strangers on a passing boat to demo his gear and joke about being "on the clock."
We will not do private phone calls. All photo evidence, capacity violations, owner responses, and receipts have been officially submitted to GetYourGuide, Nevada Consumer Affairs, and our credit card issuer. The photo speaks for itself.
