Best arcade bar this side of the Missouri River, and possibly this side of several alternate dimensions.
Bring a bucket of quarters, or a few dozen nickels, a backup pair of undies (for emotionally intense pinball moments), and your favorite human and prepare for chaos.
On the final night, my wife launched herself into a heroic campaign of pinball wizardry before flooring a virtual taxi through the streets of San Francisco like she owed the city money. She might owe them money. But it’s okay, it’s California.
Every machine beeped, flashed, rattled, and screamed as if it knew the end was near.
Somewhere between the high scores and the sticky arcade floor, a generation of bad decisions and great memories was lovingly preserved in neon.
When the lights finally went out on May 31, 2026, I swear I heard a distant chorus of arcade cabinets playing one last game...
Farewell, Quarters Arcade Bar, may your pinballs always stay in play, your Crazy Taxis always find the shortcut, and your legend live forever. 🫡

This is one of my absolute favorite places in the city. The atmosphere is effortlessly cool, and the vintage photo booth and old-school coin machine are such fun touches. There’s a huge selection of arcade games and pinball machines, so there’s always something to play whether you’re flying solo, out with friends, or planning a great date night.
The staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the cocktails are excellent—easily some of the best in the city, not just “good for an arcade bar.” Add in the adorable patio for hanging out outside, and it’s the kind of place you’ll keep coming back to again and again. Can’t recommend it enough.
